| ☄ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: Amaya has a surprisingly diminutive and almost demure appearance; always carrying herself with an air of leadership despite being 5'0'' even, Amaya carries herself with dignity and a strangely gentle air despite her stature, almost properly looking the part as a leader of a village. What will make this image fall apart is looking at her face for too long; at cold, yellow eyes that never seem to gain any sort of spark to them, or if they do, it is but a brief flicker. Her expression rarely if ever leaves the sort of stony calm that seems to define her, as well. If it does, it's usually due to negative emotion...or something else. ♚ FASHION: Very simple; exceedingly simple, honestly. Amaya prefers clothes that are baggy (due to her muscular physique underneath; think more lumberjack than bodybuilder, someone who fights for fun) and very simple. A long white dress with a goldenrod belt and some gardening boots that have seen one too many harvests and are practically falling apart. Amaya's clothing of choice always seems to be like that, truly. ♚ DEMEANOR: Amaya is...strange in this regard; by all rights, she does give off the impression of a leader when she speaks. Very taciturn, a little stern, but with a gentleness that implies anyone could speak to her and she'd open her ears for them. But her tone is very...blank? It tends to come off as very monotone and blank, though it can be quite intense when Amaya tries to sound passionate. And that's the real kicker in the end; Amaya tries to sound like what she wants, but she fails pretty hard at it most of the time due to her cold eyes and lack of inflection in her tone. ♚ SOUND: The best approximate idea I have for her voice is here for how she sounds! She's got a surprisingly deep voice for someone so small, though she in particular has a more monotone and less impassioned inflection. ♚ SCENT: ...She honestly kind of smells like she doesn't take showers nearly as often as she should. It's the depression, baby! ♚ MENTAL INFORMATION: Amaya has no defenses against mind reading, but, uh. Considering the passenger in her heart, let's discuss this first! ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Amaya has access to light based magic (her world calls it Sun element, which is meant to be a power that reveals the truth of all things, contrasting the illusory Moon element), which grants her access to basic magic there, as well as healing that only works on humans and may actively harm unholy creatures. She also has access to dark magic, due to the Dragon that hangs around in her heart; this grants her much more power, as well as a regenerative factor, and she's also uh. Got a lil bit of possession going on don't worry-- ☄ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: I'm fine with this! I tend to be a lil slow on tags anyway, and due to working full time, I can only really get to them in the evenings. ♚ FOURTHWALLING: No thank you! ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Please for the love of god ask first. Amaya's fight or flight response will activate and it may end with your character having a bloody nose, at minimum. ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Ask first, but Amaya happens to love to spar, so absolutely! She's also a surprisingly accomplished magus, but uh. Funnily enough, her primary means of fighting is actually with her fists, so she will gladly be down to brawl and will not go down easily. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: I am begging you to get some taste, but uh. Let's discuss if it looks like it's going in this direction, because Amaya has a LOT going on here. ♚ TRIGGER WARNINGS: So Amaya here is in fact my OC with every disease (purely metaphor), but she has a LOT of content warnings associated with her. There's quite a few that are unfortunately unavoidable if you dive into deep CR with her, but there's plenty that can also be avoided, too! Let's go over them. Always feel free to comment if you need me to avoid something or if you don't wanna play with Amaya at all, that's totally valid! UNAVOIDABLES

Nov. 22nd, 2025 12:45 pma notebook underneath the pew where amaya consistently slept on has the rest of the sketches she had managed to do; not all of them are finished, but they are there. along with a small note that appears to be amaya...practicing her writing? it's terrible and barely legible, but it reads--
"hope i don't need more.
maybe we can keep everyone alive.
would be nice if this could be a celebration of everyone's lives instead."

Oct. 23rd, 2024 10:11 pmthis is a heavy work in progress but i'll do a tl;dr version
long ago when amaya was 17 and under the thumb of her father, she killed her father with the help of the dragon he had found years ago and attempted to end the world. a group of people stopped her and tried to reach out to her before abandoning her (in her perception) to her own devices, believing the dragon slain and amaya herself benign. amaya is admittedly anything but, but over the years, she attempted to rebuild the town she destroyed, and people began to follow her again genuinely--some knowing her history and some not, but believing in her all the same
at 32, basically the archbishop and leader of this small village, amaya attempts to protect her people from those who want her dead due to the shit she pulled. amaya herself is a mess who has no positive emotions and literally cannot express them at all, due to the dragon taking one last thing from her when it died. she's still connected to it's power, and fights it off every day even as her faith in people continues to wane slow but sure. but even so, she persists out of a sense of punishment for her misdeeds, and does legitimately want to help people. she's a good listener, kind despite her dead looking eyes and lack of a smile, and she does all she can to keep her people safe.
writing a non-tl;dr version below the cut
(cws: cults, child abuse [emotional/physical], a whole lot of murder, patricide, suicidal ideation very slightly)

- so the world of madide has. world's weirdest fucking elemental system. i still need to write it out but for the purposes of amaya specifically, she is of the sun/darkness element. initial element is determined by your blood, while you can choose your secondary one.
- fun fact! amaya used to be more of a mage when she was young, but out of necessity, has become more of a monk/fighter type over time. girl has muscles, even if her clothes are baggy enough to hide them for the most part. but girl throws a hell of a punch and primarily focuses on disarming her foes.
- amaya's sun element gives her the power to dispel illusions and create light that's more holy in nature than anything. she also has the ability to heal with this element, but it won't work on unholy critters sadly. (i'll go into details on this later as i decide)
- amaya's darkness element is straightforward, but her far more trained element; she can harness the dark energies around her to create blasts, use the energy to lift herself up and create platforms of darkness, and it dovetails particularly well into the fact that she's got a whole ass darkness dragon sealed within her.
- the dragon being fused with her grants her several things; the ability to manifest the dark powers it has as wings that primarily act as shields or to thwack with (they're sadly flightless), claws that amaya can use to envelop her punches, and she can manifest the dragon's maw below opponents and try to chomp them. it also means she's got a hell of a healing factor; most minor wounds on her will heal in a few minutes, and while she can't regenerate from nothing, the dragon's power at least ensures that as long as she has the limb, it'll be back and functioning in fairly short order if she's allowed to rest.
